The Benefits of Recycling With Plastic Wrap

The U.S. plastic wrap recycling industry continues to expand rapidly thanks in large part to the need for packaging and the ability to produce wrap with many different materials. Recycling programs have become integral parts of our everyday lives and are now found in every corner of our nation. In some places, it’s a major environmental concern. Many of us are very aware of what plastic wrap is and how it’s used. We also realize that there are several options out there for wrapping whether it be newspaper foil, corrugated cardboard, wood or soy-based fibre. Yet, we still use plastic wrap.

We have wrappers for everything from cookies to Christmas cards. We’ve even got wraps for sports such as baseball and football. And don’t think for a second that you can only use these for wrapping food. Even office supply stores are offering this convenient convenience.

It’s a shame really, but paper and packaging are becoming more wasteful. We’re not taking any steps to try and reduce this in ourselves, unfortunately. But there are plenty of companies out there who have been created specifically to help our community benefit by reducing our waste. These companies purchase all of the wrapping paper they can find, which results in the donation to charities. This is a win-win situation for everyone because the products they sell are reusable, they’re recycled and most importantly, they help the environment.

One of the ways they do this is through the distribution of their plastic wraps. They get the wrapping paper and then sell it as quickly as possible. Many companies also take the wrapping directly from the customer. They don’t need an extra storage facility because the customer takes their own. This results in a tax write-off for the store and for the company.

If you’ve ever walked into a store that carries these products, you’ve probably noticed the different colours available. You’ll see red, blue, purple, green and even yellow. There are tons of different hues and shades, which means you have lots of options when choosing what colour to order. Some stores even offer a special wrap just for February. This is because the wrapper itself symbolizes the season. Another reason why many businesses choose to give away their wrap is that they like to see how many different colours are in circulation.

A Much Ado

The second way this recycled material is used is for different types of paper. Think about the fact that paper is one of the leading causes of deforestation. This is something we all want to do our part to stop. The good news is that if you give away your plastic wrap or cardboard, some companies will accept it instead. This way you can recycle the wrappers and use them again.

Even though these two methods are very helpful, there are still more. There are some places around the world that actually use thermal tape to create new items. These include things like disposable plates, cups, tablecloths and napkins. The thermal tape can be placed over any type of material and then after it cools, the plastic wrap is simply removed and re-used.

These are just two ways plastic wrap recycling can help out. There are tons of other ways that recycling programs such as this one can make a difference in the environment and in your wallet. It’s time to take a stand and support programs like this so we can all do our part to help protect the planet.

So what can you do with the wrappers? You can place them in a trash can, whenever you are done with them. You can also stack them up and take them with you to dispose of. They are an environmentally friendly alternative to using plastic bags.

Final Words

Another great way to use the plastic wrap after it is removed is to reuse them for different projects around the house. You can use the colours to decorate. For instance, red and green wrapping can replace all of the paper boxes in your garage. This makes it easier to find things and not litter everything.

It doesn’t matter if you’re recycling your own plastic, paper or coloured wrappers. There is still a major benefit of recycling. As you use items from recycling cans or bins, you are reducing the amount of garbage that ends up in our landfills each year. You will feel good about doing your part to help our environment. Plastic wrap recycling can help you do your part.
